PhD application procedure

Expressions of interest should be received no later that the 1 December 2020 in order to be considered for CHASE funding. All fee status candidates are eligible to apply for CHASE funding for 2021. Please contact a prospective supervisor in the first instance to discuss your proposal and suitability for PhD study.

Applicants should have a good undergraduate degree in anthropology, archaeology, art history or a related subject, and also preferably have, or be about to complete, a Masters level degree.

The deadline for consideration for funding from CHASE and UEA sources will be in early January 2021. The deadline for consideration for SRU support funding is 1st March in the year of application. Overseas applicants are recommended to apply at least four months before the proposed start date in order to complete the visa process and arrange payment of the deposit. Later applications may be considered, if places are still available, but may not be eligible for consideration for funding. The academic year begins in late September.
